The Selvaticos – 2 A.M.

The Selvaticos are back. Straight up from the streets of Bogota, Dusseldorf & London.

If you have never heard of them, it is basically the perfect band for people who like music and enjoy dancing but don’t really care about either. One of the few old school ragga jungle-turned into- full new hardcore D&B depending on the mood, They’ve collected another grab bag of party tunes that sound as good on your phone as in the clubs, sorted by a dizzying number of featured vocalists, and for the first time in Latino Resiste, we have not just one but 2 tracks in German.

This album, somehow, feels like could have been produced in Bogota, Dusseldorf, or London. And perhaps that is why it sounds so eclectic, because it was!

2 A. M doesn’t steer away from the subversive beginnings, very British drum’n’bass blend with Jamaica and American influence but also includes some accordions, dembow, and a complete arsenal of bass drops, landing comfortably in the profitable hinterland between Shy FX’s cold calculation and Skrillex’s wild abandon.

Still, one thing The Selvaticos keep doing release after release is hung on a string of unforgettable hooks, as good as grown-up pop gets.

Enjoy 2 A.M.

The Selvaticos- Futile Future

In 2013, a collaboration between their love for old school jungle music and Drum & Bass got together producers Chong X and Caballo to release JAH JAH RULES .

Then Caballo moved forward with the project alone to drop a second installment called Mayo’ Naizer in 2016 which went more Jungle-Bass, Reggaeton-Jungle and Grime.

Now in 2020 a 3rd chapter called FUTILE FUTURE and it gets to finally see the basslight after a long process of finding right balance, fans of old school jungle as well as those who like Futuristic Drum & Bass can be either pining for songs with typical Shy Fx flavour or for a whole new Ill gates type of sound.

In an attempt to appease both crowds, Futile Future lands somewhere in the between with safe, familiar sounds but also keeps a loose wire in terms of exploration. In fact, the quality of the collaborations/sample/edits makes the vocal talent able to lit the album and keep the old-school vibe even though some of the tracks, like Solid Defense, are a completely futuristic dub & bass . Futile Future is simply put one of the most concrete Jungle albums made by a adopted Latins, especially considering the reputation that these genre have gone through in the past few years in the EDM community.

Geosf Oli- Mexa-Ragga

Music Based on Tresillo has been hypnotizing audiences for centuries.
So when you mix chicano moombahton with post dancehall the result is a straight forward banger.
Jose Oliva known as Geosf Oli is an L.A. producer who has been joining the usual suspects of moombah-platforms with wild acceptance.

We strongly believe it is our duty as an underground platform to give him a wide open arms welcome to the family, and we hope you like the track as much as we do.

His first submission for Latino Resiste comes in the easiest form… a Mexa-Ragga, instant perreo.

Oroshy- Aquecimento

Oroshy is the brainchild of Kin Rocha aka Dj Kin, one of Sao Paulo’s most prolific producers who has getting a lot of attention for his unique fusion of elements.
He gets the favela vibe right; but it is subtle enough to make it perfect for dancefloor appeal without losing the underground sound while keeping a world-centered sound.
His music blends Middle Eastern music with funk carioca, Brazilian bass with moombahton, Western with Eastern, all of it together, but still sounds very Brazilian.

On Aquecimento, we found a mature sound, starting with the catchy TREME, a collab with MC R1.

Then, striking with the title of the EP Aquecimento, a rich middle-eastern moombah-bass.

Ta is the next track, showing why slower BPM stuff like rasterinha, and slower moombahton are the future of the under afro-bass.

And last but not least, Gesto keeping the Brazilian-Eastern Indian vibe at high octane.

if you like any of these genres: World, world fusion, Ragga, latin breaks, baile funk, brazilian, brazilian bass, bass, then this release is just for you.

Whine & Kotch (DAV!DX Edit)

whine-kotch1

Dancehall got global level with Charly Black’s Party like an Animal.. However one of his wickedest riddims was Whine & Kotch which gets an impressive Edit from Miami-Based prodigy and producer DAV!DX who adds his signature kicks and bassline to amp the song to the dancefloor level.

Caballo- King Pobre

Caballo is back to the global scene with a Ep called King Pobre which is also part of the upcoming album LOUD AF which goes for FREE the second semester of 2017.

On King Pobre, Caballo wants to extend his vision as editor for Mad Decent in where many of the submissions came with the hopes of being played by Major Lazer or Diplo.
The Struggle is real.

King Pobre features footage from Jillionaire’s CNB
About the music:
It comes with the Jack it Up version, which features the one and only RaggaTwins

as well as the Resurrection version which is an instrumental but also a melancholic version with no drop, but equally uplifting
