MELTING POT: SPAIN

The creative and commercial construction of a white Latino image by European artists who produce reggaetón is more than simply whitewashing. The shared language might impart a sense of authority and authenticity to these Spaniards. But we must remember that this language is shared precisely because of Spanish colonization.

Bailando allowed Enrique Iglesias to reinvent himself as a hip Latin urban singer by relying on Afro-Latino cultural markers – in this case, reggaetón – while simultaneously embodying Latino whiteness”.

So, we, at Latino Resiste, truly believe that we can embrace Spanish Culture as well without having to worry about misappropriation.

We bring a MELTING POT with a mix of some of the Most well known and Underground stuff from Spain.

If you know mestizo Music, then you know who Joxe Ripiau are, and their impact in the Euskarria scene, as well as Paul de Swardt’s input in making ragga-fusion accessible as part of Macaco.

But no one has brought more highlight to Spain’s music than Rosalia.. so we grab 2 tracks and gave them our treatment.

Of course there are many more things, like Major Lazer in a flamenco, or Ragga Twins with some tios!!

Anyways, GRAB THIS ONE HERE!!

Chong X & Caballo- Break Away

Latino Resiste is happy to drop straight flames with a bouncy collab between two of the OG’s in the global bass game, Chong X and Caballo.

Break Away flirts between Moombahton, Reggaeton, Dembow, Baltimore Bounce and Dancehall without being strictly any of them a hundred percent.

Any format you prefer is available on Bandcamp

320 available also in Souncloud

El Nomada- Sabor A Machete

Latino Resiste is extremely happy to finally have a whole EP from one of the OG’s in the game.

Back in the day he created a new genre called Junglaton (Drum and Bass fused with Moombahton) alongside Jon Kwest. However, El Nomada kept evolving the game and actually has gone really deep into the game and making great statements in what Latin Drum & Bass is.

Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico EL Nomada sound is a blend of upbeat UK Drum and Bass style percussion, with Latin Reggaeton, and deep dark eclectic Synths and Bass sounds.

At the time he was dubbed “The King of Drumstep” by UK’s Dj UMB from GenerationBass.

El Nomada is also a pioneer of the moombahton movement in Kansas City, and founder of the Kayceeton guild of Kansas City moombahton producers and overall a real OG.

His latest EP called Sabor a Machete is a brutal statement of what Latin Drum & Bass is.

KING DOUDOU X CABALLO – PERREO CRIMINAL

For many years French producer Hugo Douster has been a key figure in the European Tropical scene under his DOUSTER moniker; however once he switched to darker beats with a huge African/Caribbean vibe on his KING DOUDOU project he really took it to the next level to the point of being one of the guys behind the music on J BALVIN’s megahit NEGRO.

He dropped this amazing Perreo Android Riddim back in the days, which triggered the inner beast on Canadian producer Caballo to take it to the Criminal level, which is exactly a combination of both.

PERREO CRIMINAL is available for ZERO PESOS at bandcamp or SC

PNCVZ- Mueven

Electronic producers’ mad dash to work with latin rhythms; After the hybrid blending of reggaeton and Dutch house and the massive appeal that dembow has right now, we have guys like Junior Ponce, a Venezuelan living in Buenos Aires dropping some mad latin bass called MUEVEN which relies on the wiggly instrumental hook that is often popular in moombahton.

Track is simply a bomb to be enjoyed for personal abuse or at any dj set!!

JavierJoeK- Salvaje

Costa Rica hasn’t always been on the tip of one’s tongue when talking about great bass/reggaeton scenes.

However, if you are always keeping an eye on the usual moombahton/dembow/reggaeton oriented soundcloud labels, you will find our Tico homeboy JavierJoeK making strong statements about Costa Rica’s own take on the genre.

Costa Rica’s own take on the genre.
We are very please to unveil his most recent EP named Salvaje which is nothing else but a truly great effort to focus Javier’s energy toward original tracks rather than doing what he does best, which is amazing remixes.

On Salvaje we find a more creative Javier, willing to play with basslines and having straight up fun to set any dancefloor on fire regardless the genre you are playing.
These 3 songs can fit ANY set.. dembow, reggaeton, moombahton, dancehall, bass, you name it, this is a savage release for #zeropesos
