Ruta Panamericana del Sonido- Bass en las Alturas

002

Ruta Panamericana del Sonido, is back again.
This time we go to the top of the whole continent. Literally, RPS strikes from Bolivia.

The trip which started a-la Che Guevara, is not political oriented, but it does have a very political intention: trying to unveil the Urban Culture and Music from each country “La Panamericana” crosses by.

Having in Mind that Bolivian Music is perhaps one of the lesser known from South America, we needed to make a strong alliance with Oi Mas Bass, who are perhaps the strongest Bass Collective from La Paz.

The final result is exactly what the Bolivian Bass scene sounds like. A perfect blend between Andean roots, and Modern Bass. From Digital Cumbia, to Moombahton, to Bashment, or Cumbiathon; Bass en la Alturas is just the perfect example of the modern music played in the under Bolivian Scenes.

Ruta Panamericana’s own Caballo & Chong X are joined by Bolivian bassheads Ale Cassis, Dj Quien, Villa Victoria Soundsystem and Oliver Sky.

If Che Guevara died in Bolivia, these rebels are trying to make sure Bolivia doesn’t get behind in the collective mind of the Empire in terms of sounds.

So, join us for this amazing trip.

Ruta Panamericana del Sonido: Cielo Roto

Ruta Panamericana del Sonido keeps travelling to the continent… and after Argentina, RPS arrives to Chile!

This is our second stop in a trip, in where a-la Che Guevara, we will be travelling through the whole continent, unveiling some of the particular sounds of every country we visit as outsiders, and also how artists see their own culture:

This trip explains why Chile is perhaps the most vanguardist country in South America in terms of electronic Music, preserving a unique identity. Indigenous and andean sounds.

But even more impressive that this indigenous-andean influenced music, we can show two practically unknown genres for outsiders in Cielo Roto, : Jazz guachaca and Dub Guaracha, something that came from outside, and as soon as chilean musicians heard jazz or dub, they adapted it to their own style. Hopefully new generations of producers keep dropping these two styles.
This song is a dub edit of a Jazz Guacacha track, who was originally performed by Roberto Parra ( Violeta’s uncle)

Dj Subversivo brings Victor Jara in an impressive Dub roots that is totally worth downloading the EP for that tune.

Chong X’s heavy bass approach brings all the power to a very musical trip

Matanza, Daniel Klauser, Cholita Sound, prove how proud Chilean are from their Andean indigenous roots, while Lata and Dj Subversivo show how immersed in politics Chilean people still are.

Chong X and Caballo travel with them thru the Chilean Sky, this Cielo Roto.

Big thanks to Antartek, Konn, and Diamond Recs in Chile whose artists are featured in this edition of RPS.
Chong X and Caballo are artists of The Rebel Records.

This one the sublime opening track, a re edit of Mi Buenos Aires querido by Chong X

While Caballo goes for a total original track, blending bandoneon, with dancehall and funk.

Argentina’s The Binary Cumbia Orchestra drops a marvelous Cumbia!!!

and you will be surprisedby Den5hion’s Piazolla dubstep version and last but not least, Chong X and his great Cumbia!
