who got Sepultura, Slayer, Obituary and Satyricon for a twisted ride into the tropicHELL!

Brazilian super band Sepultura got 3 edits!!
A bass one by Pedro Infame from Venezuela , one cumbia by Colombia’s Caballo and one brazilian funk made by alsobrazilian mashup master Brutal Redneck.

Slayer ( which has a Chilean singer and a Cuban drummer!!) got a sick treatment by also Chilean LATA.

Obituary and Satyricon got a rave and 3ball/tribal edits respectively made by Monterrey’s Ezekiel!!

To get together the best of Mexican Underground scene, Latino Resiste got Mexican Underground Authority:
BOOTLEGUMACHINE, as the Official selector and Caballo joining him.

The Album, entirely donated by the artists,(in the case of M.I.S and Erick Rincon, the songs were grabbed from Free Releases); you will find original releases done for AZTLAN, although we would like to do special emphasis to this releases in terms of uniting the whole Mexican Underground scene, everybody under one shelter!!
You will find from CAIFANES dubstep, or Mariachi drum n bass, to reggae, 3ball huarachero, or Nortec to Mexican rock, hardcore,Dance or moombahcore.

Cholombians, 3balleros, Reggae lovers, dubsteppers, rockers, and so on.. Everybody, every genre is represented at least with an underground artist.

Latino Resiste: AZTLAN art was made by Mexican rebel artist PUNKER, who is also an active member of the Rebel sounds collective.

LR presents Azucah Selectah is trying to show the opinion and music from known and unknown artists, and also making sub thematic compilations that reflect a particular style of some Latin American trends, we are trying to show what is happening in Latin America Underground Scene.

A work that drops an amazing selection coming from the eclectic tastes of the Golden Girl of Salsa, Maite Hontele, alongside DJ Mundo from Rebelsounds, and Caballo, all together in a project that attempts to show a new face of Latin music in terms of salsa, not Fania version of Salsa, neither your Orishas or Mixed version..
this is a movement that started growing slow but strongly from late nineties, although only until the end of the last decade emerges fully outside the so called “underground” in Latin America.

We have seen great blogs like The Fader or even DJ Chino’s trying to approach people to this section of the Latin Culture, but it is still very away in terms of what is going on in our latinoamerican streets.

This release will show you a HUGE portion of the sounds that are all over the clubs, although their exposure outside the Latin context remains very limited.

That is the mission of Latino Resiste presents Azucah Selectah;

show how close these Rhythms of pure salsa, Descarga, boogaloo, Latin jazz, Guaguanco, etc. .. are of global trends such as fusion mestiza, drum n ‘bass, dubstep, ska, cumbia, and other genres that are blended in this album and try to push further the true essence of America.

We have pretty much some of the coolest sounds around!!
KING CHANGO, SERGENT GARCIA, Les BABACOOLS, drop their UNRELEASED TUNES!!!
RADIO REBELDE, MAITE HONTELE, SONORA OCHO, LA REPUBLICA, BITUAYA, PEDRO INFAME, DLC SUDSOUND, are just a small portion of the great sounds you will find.

From the fields of Cuba, Dominican Republic or Valle de Cauca there is nothing more precious than sugar cane, that’s where salsa was born, and this is where the best refined sugar in the world.

Salsa is the sugar of Rum, blood of congas, sweat of dancers, the sugar of Latinos!!

An essential release for those who want to know what is going on with the latino underground movement and the connection from the african roots in modern latin music.
We have not only some of the best names in terms of artists you’ll hear, the best “cantaoras” from Latin America:
Petrona Martinez, or Etelvina Maldonado ( get Re-mixed majestically) for Example.
but also the ones who made the compilation possible.
PALENQUE RECORDS C.E.O, Lucas Silva, joined Caballo in the selection!!
For the people who don’t know about Palenque Rec; this is like getting Rick Rubin on board doing a rock compilation, or David Byrne doing a so-called “world Music”.
Lucas has given Latino Resiste part of Palenque Records Discography including the iconic Sexteto Tabala de Palenque, and Alfonso Cordoba aka EL BRUJO, who was so important that Colombian government gave him ‘Gran Order of Cultural Merit” -Colombia’s highest cultural recognition- to name a few of the amazing songs we have for this FREE compilation.
And for the first time we add a GRAMMY nominee giving their music from their just brand new release!!

Locos por Juana, also donated their Champeta for latinAfrica.

In the compilation you’ll find songs that define this new and very unique sound.

Each one of the songs represent an extension of African Influence in Latin America.

From the Roots sounds of Las pilanderas Momposinas or Sexteto Tabala, going thru the original pata pata with latin flavor, to even include Uproot Andy & Geko jones amazing version of Manuelita.

Note: El agua is performed by Faraon Bantu Sound System feat DJ RATA ( B/C the name is too long we made it short in the artcover just to Faraon Bantu, although DJ RATA is a name to behold in the champeta circle)

For those who don’t know what Latino Resiste is.. here’s a short description:
A series of compilations of Latin American music that unites not only musicians but also photographers, designers and painters in a common objective:
TO SHOW THE NEW FACE OF A REBEL LATIN AMERICA.

In the First LR Vol 1 we had the best of Latin Underground Rebel Music from all over Latin America; but one country was missed: BRAZIL.

We wanted to have an “ONLY BRAZILIAN” compilation.

That is what we have.

Latino Resiste presents TROPICHAOS ( pronounced Tropi chão) because of the chaotic way to mix music and because the word chaos is near to chão, which is a very used word in Brazilian pancadão!
